The California Gold Rush
Fourth graders are learning about an exciting episode of California history - the Gold Rush. Gold was discovered on the American River in early 1848. By 1849, news had spread across the country and beyond. Thousands of eager gold seekers showed up looking for riches. Our new story, By the Great Horn Spoon, is set during this time.
1. Math: Mr. Spaulding: p. 437-438.
Mrs. Thompson: p. 449-450
Ms. Nuzum: p. 354.
2. Praiseworthy and Jack are going on a trip. Where is someplace you would really like to go for trip? Explain.
3. Bring $30 Fort Tejon money if you haven't done so already.
4. Read for half an hour.
5. Get parent initials.
